At first light, take to the air to one of New Zealand’s most remote alpine landscapes. Fly over Mt Alfred, witness the Dart River spilling into Lake Wakatipu, and land high on Mt Earnslaw with its waterfalls and hanging glacier. Hike the ridgeline and descend to the start of the Earnslaw Burn track. Traverse glacial streams and ramble amongst rich alpine plantlife before descending through beech forest to the lake below.
